Book Week & Gadigal Great Book Swap

To celebrate BOOK WEEK and encourage more reading among our students, we're excited to host the Gadigal Athena Great Book Swap!
Students are invited to bring in books they've finished reading.
The idea is simple: swap a favorite book for another, with a $2 donation.
All funds raised through the book swaps will go to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF), helping provide books and educational resources to children in remote communities across Australia.
You can further support the cause by making a donation to our Great Book Swap page and sharing it with friends, family, and your community.

Belinda Murrell

Belinda’s school presentations are tailored for students from Kindergarten through to Year 10, and are often described as “interactive, dynamic, highly entertaining and inspiring,” leaving students energised about books, writing, and reading.
An award-winning, internationally published author, Belinda comes from a long line of writers dating back over 200 years.
She has written more than 35 books, including The Golden Tower, The Silver Sea, The Sun Sword trilogy, the much-loved Lulu Bell and Pippa’s Island series, and a collection of Australian historical timeslip novels.
Belinda also co-authored Searching for Charlotte with her sister, bestselling author Kate Forsyth.
The biography explores the extraordinary life of their great-great-great-great-grandmother, Charlotte Waring Atkinson, who wrote the first children’s book published in Australia in 1841.
Her latest series, The Daredevil Princess, is a magical adventure for younger readers.
